IGP Appoints New DIG To Lead Finance and Administration

In a period where the Nigeria Police Force is intensifying internal reforms to strengthen accountability and efficiency, leadership reshuffles remain critical to sustaining momentum and public confidence.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the posting of DIG Mohammed Adamu Dankwara as the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration.

The announcement, conveyed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, anipr, mipra, follows the retirement of DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya after more than thirty years of dedicated and exemplary service to the nation.

DIG Dankwara, who until this appointment served as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police overseeing the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, is widely respected for his professionalism and strong leadership ethos.

The IGP congratulated the newly appointed DIG, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience will further strengthen the financial and administrative framework of the Force.

He noted that the posting aligns with ongoing efforts to reposition the Police for improved efficiency and operational effectiveness.

According to the statement, the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to safeguarding citizens while enhancing its internal systems through strategic leadership placements and performance-driven reforms.
