Okpebholo Rallies Edo Muslims, Pledges 2.5 Million Votes For Tinubu In 2027
As Nigeria inches closer to the 2027 general elections, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State is rallying faith and politics into a shared vision of progress.
The Governor has called on the Muslim community in Edo to sustain prayers and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration he described as reform-driven and courageous.
Speaking during a special Walimah to mark his first year in office, held at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City, Okpebholo expressed gratitude to the Muslim faithful for their loyalty and partnership, noting that their prayers have been instrumental to his administration’s achievements.
“It has been a long and challenging journey, but by the mercy of Allah we have come this far,” he said. “Edo belongs to all, irrespective of religion or background. Our governance is guided strictly by competence and capacity.”
Reaffirming his support for President Tinubu, Governor Okpebholo declared his commitment to delivering 2.5 million votes for the president in 2027, describing Tinubu as “a man of courage, character, and truth” whose leadership is reshaping Nigeria through bold reforms.
The event featured goodwill messages, including from former Deputy Governor Lucky Imasuen, who hailed Okpebholo’s leadership as inclusive and people-centred.
A documentary highlighting the Governor’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security was also screened, while the event climaxed with an award presentation recognising his humility and dedication to service.
Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed that Edo’s future under his leadership will continue to reflect unity, competence, and faith, a vision, he said, anchored on truth, progress, and shared destiny.
