In a country where public trust in leadership is often tested, former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, continues to model service-driven leadership through action rather than rhetoric.
On Friday, 31st October 2025, Obi reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s education and healthcare systems during visits to key institutions in Anambra State.
Sharing updates via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Obi said he visited the College of Nursing Sciences, Amichi, and Immaculate Girls Model Secondary School, Nnewi, where he interacted with teachers and students.
He recalled donating laptops, a school bus, and other learning tools to the school during his tenure as governor.
The management told him that the same bus—donated 12 years ago, remains their only one and is now barely functional.
“They told me that the only school bus they have is the one I donated as Governor, and it is no longer fully functional after about 12 years of use. I assured them of my continued support,” Obi stated.
Extending his humanitarian gesture, Obi also visited St. Felix Hospital, Nnewi, where he announced a ₦5 million donation to support the hospital’s operations and pledged ongoing assistance.
He emphasised that sustained investment in education and healthcare remains the cornerstone of national development and human capital growth.
“For our nation to progress, we must deliberately invest in education and health, the most critical foundations for national development.
I remain committed to contributing my part, no matter how small,” he affirmed.
Obi rounded off his message with his familiar note of hope: “A New Nigeria is POssible.”
