With just a week to the Anambra governorship election, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has taken a swipe at the All Progressives Congress (APC) for launching its campaign barely days before the polls, calling it proof of the party’s lack of seriousness.
Speaking at an APGA rally in Abagana, Soludo, who is seeking re-election, described the APC’s late start as “shocking and laughable,” insisting it shows the party’s candidate is only after cheap publicity.
“It’s unbelievable that a major political party would begin campaigning a week to the election,” Soludo said. “Take whatever money they give you and still vote them out. Our record of achievements in three years is enough reason to renew our mandate.”
His comments followed the APC’s campaign flag-off at All Saints Cathedral Field, Onitsha, attended by Governor Hope Uzodinma and thousands of party supporters.
The APGA rally also saw supporters donate ₦50 million to boost Soludo’s re-election bid.
