NAF Graduates 483 Regiment Personnel, Moves To Strengthen Defence Against Emerging Threats
As Nigeria continues to battle complex security challenges, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it is stepping up efforts to fortify its defence architecture through enhanced training and operational readiness.
Speaking during the combined graduation ceremony of the Basic Regiment Officers Course 20/2025 and Basic Regiment Airmen/Airwomen Course 33/2025 in Kaduna, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, charged the 483 newly trained personnel to remain vigilant and committed to protecting national assets and citizens.
Represented by the Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Dari, Air Marshal Aneke said the Service is continuously “revitalising capabilities, developing new ones, and adapting processes to meet emerging security demands.”
He noted that the modern battlespace has become increasingly unpredictable, driven by militancy, terrorism, and organised criminality.
According to him, the NAF remains resolute in its mission to confront insurgency, banditry, and other internal security threats through enhanced capacity building and strategic investments in force protection.
The CAS praised the graduands for their discipline and professionalism, urging them to uphold the NAF’s core values of loyalty, honesty, courage, and discipline. “Protect all Nigerians and avoid any act that could tarnish the image of our great Service,” he cautioned.
The newly graduated personnel showcased their operational skills through Krav Maga combat displays, skill-at-arms drills, and rappelling exercises, reflecting their readiness for real-world security operations.
Earlier, the Commandant of the Regiment Training Centre, Air Commodore CO Olayera, commended the NAF leadership for prioritising human capacity development, noting that the graduates’ new skills would boost the Force’s effectiveness in securing critical air assets and supporting joint operations.
The event was attended by top military officers and dignitaries, including Air Vice Marshal AA Shinkafi, senior Army representatives, and former Director of Regiment, Air Commodore Adagboyi (rtd).
The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to inter-agency cooperation and synergy with other security services in the ongoing fight against terrorism and insecurity across the country.
