Team Nigeria Lands In Accra For Africa Zone 2 Championship
Team Nigeria has arrived in Accra, Ghana, brimming with confidence ahead of the 2025 Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Championship, taking place from 3 to 5 October.
The contingent, made up of young male and female swimmers, wasted no time settling in as they dived straight into training to adapt quickly to the competition environment.
Led by the Secretary of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, Taiwo Oriss, with Coach Abiodun Ojomo handling technical preparations, the team features a blend of rising talents including Dorcas Abeng, Agnes John, Tofunmi Ibidapo, Maryam Omodunmola Muhammed, Funmilayo Demehin, Aidan Dumuje-Abili, Timilehin Olaiya, Goodluck Godwin and Endurance Olise.
Officials say the athletes are highly motivated and ready to showcase their abilities on the continental stage.
The Zone 2 Championship brings together top swimmers from across West and Central Africa and is seen as both a proving ground and a platform for nurturing future champions.
With their youthful energy and determination, Nigeria’s swimmers are hoping to surpass past performances and bring home medals.
