Nigeria At 65: FRSC Corps Marshal Urges Caution, Peace, and Patriotism
Independence anniversaries are not only moments of celebration but also of sober reflection—particularly on the need for safety, unity, and national progress.
As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence anniversary, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Nigerians, while calling for peace, patriotism, and vigilance.
In his goodwill message, Mohammed described Independence Day as a time for citizens to rededicate themselves to the ideals of sacrifice, national security, and peaceful coexistence, noting that “it is only those alive that can celebrate.”
Highlighting the FRSC’s role during festive periods, he announced special patrols across the country to manage increased vehicular movement, warning motorists against traffic violations such as dangerous driving, route violations, drink driving, and traffic light disobedience.
Offenders, he said, risk having their vehicles impounded.
While urging Nigerians to celebrate with prayers and caution, the Corps Marshal prayed for continued peace, prosperity, and harmony in the country.
