Final for the Ages: Karu Derby Set to Rock Abuja in Veterans Showdown
Abuja is bracing for an electrifying football spectacle as Karu All Stars and New Karu All Stars lock horns in the grand finale of the Abuja Veterans Tournament on Saturday, 30th August, 2025.
This year’s competition has been nothing short of dramatic; defending champions knocked out early, shock results at every stage, and now, the promise of a brand-new winner. To add to the excitement, ex-internationals will not only grace the occasion but also join the action on the pitch.
New Karu All Stars have dazzled fans with their free-flowing football, sweeping aside NNPC All Stars, Lugbe All Stars, and Unity Sports Foundation in their fairytale run to the final. In contrast, Karu All Stars fought their way through tough battles, including a nerve-racking penalty shootout win over Apo Fitness Club in the semi-final.
It is neighbour versus neighbour, debutants against veterans, and a derby that promises fireworks. Will New Karu crown their dream campaign, or will the old guards of Karu prove their experience still counts?
Meanwhile, Unity Sports Foundation will face Apo Fitness Club in the third-place playoff.
