Anambra Police Take Custody Of Suspected Illegal Chinese Miner
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a Chinese national allegedly involved in illegal mining activities in Aguleri, Anambra East.
Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement that operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, received the suspect, 45-year-old Mu Hua Qiang, from the state’s local security outfit, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade), on 22nd August 2025.
According to the police, Qiang has already given a voluntary statement and is currently in custody while investigations continue.
Ikenga assured that further details on the case would be made public as investigations progress.
