Kebbi Police Rescue Kidnap Victim In Shanga Village
The Kebbi State Police Command says it has rescued a kidnap victim following an operation in Kesan village, Shanga Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson, CSP Nafi’u Abubakar, confirmed in a statement that the incident occurred in the early hours of 23rd August, when armed men invaded the community and abducted 25-year-old Abdulmumini Alhaji Ahmadu.
He said the Divisional Police Officer in Shanga swiftly mobilised a joint team of police officers and vigilantes, who pursued the kidnappers and successfully rescued the victim. In the process, the victim sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg but was immediately evacuated to hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, commended the operatives for their gallantry and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling violent crimes across the state.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and share timely, accurate information with security agencies to aid the fight against criminality.
