Nigeria Congratulates India On Independence Day Anniversary
Nigeria has joined the Republic of India in celebrating its Independence Day anniversary, with warm felicitations from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.
In a message to India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Tuggar praised the determination, sacrifice and vision that shaped India’s sovereignty.
He highlighted the shared democratic values, respect for sovereignty, and commitment to global peace that unite both nations.
The minister noted that Nigeria and India enjoy a strong partnership spanning trade, education, defence, and cultural exchange, and continue to collaborate within global platforms such as the Commonwealth, the United Nations, and the G77.
Nigeria, he added, remains committed to deepening these historic ties and pursuing new areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.
