FG Moves to Strengthen Ties Between Nigerians and Ghanaians
The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nigeria-Ghana relations, with a particular focus on safeguarding Nigerians living in the West African country.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, gave the assurance during her two-day official visit to Ghana, where she is engaging both Ghanaian authorities and the Nigerian community.
Shortly after arriving in Accra on Tuesday, the Minister had a brief but strategic meeting with Ghana’s Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, at Kotoka International Airport.
Her visit includes high-level discussions with Ghana’s President, the Foreign Minister, traditional leaders, and other key stakeholders—all aimed at ensuring that Nigerians in Ghana can live, work, and do business safely and without fear.
On Wednesday, Odumegwu-Ojukwu continued her meetings with Ghanaian officials and representatives of the Nigerian community. She is expected to return to Abuja on Thursday.
