Police Nab Suspects In Murder Of Chinese National In Ogun, Crack Case Across State Lines

In a major breakthrough, the Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects linked to the brutal murder of a Chinese national, Mr Chen Wang, in Ogun State. Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd., Ogere, was found dead in his office on 12 January 2025 with fatal stab wounds to the chest.

Acting on high-level intelligence, police operatives tracked the suspects 25-year-old Yunusa Abdullahi from Borno State and 20-year-old Peace Keno Danlami from Taraba State to Jos, Plateau State, where they had been hiding under false identities.

The duo, believed to be in a romantic relationship, allegedly tampered with the company’s security systems, carried out the murder during an overtime shift, and later burgled the victim’s residence before fleeing.

The arrest, made on 14 July, followed weeks of technical surveillance, biometric analysis, and tactical coordination involving the Force Technical Intelligence Unit and detectives from the Ogun State CID.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, praised the professionalism and tenacity of the officers involved, reaffirming the Force’s commitment to delivering justice and protecting all residents both Nigerians and foreign nationals.

The suspects remain in custody and will be charged once investigations are completed.
