APC Mourns Former President Muhammadu Buhari, Hails His Enduring Legacy
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died in London at the age of 82.
In a press statement, the party described Buhari as an “enigmatic leader” and “exemplary patriot” whose disciplined and selfless service to Nigeria will be remembered for generations.
From his military career to his years as Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), and later as the democratically elected President who served two terms, the APC hailed Buhari’s legacy as one marked by integrity, resilience and a rare commitment to national service.
The party recalled Buhari’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s democratic evolution highlighting how he defied the odds by becoming the first opposition candidate to unseat a sitting president in 2015.
His contributions to the merger that birthed the APC were also acknowledged as instrumental in shaping Nigeria’s political history.
Signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the statement conveyed condolences to Buhari’s family, President Bola Tinubu, the Government and people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians mourning this loss.
“May the Almighty Allah grant his soul Aljannatul Firdaus,” the party prayed.
