In a major boost to the fight against vehicle theft, the Anambra State Police Command has recovered two stolen vehicles in separate intelligence-driven operations carried out in Obosi and Asaba.

The first operation, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Obosi and supported by local vigilantes, resulted in the recovery of a red 2005 Toyota RAV-4 with Abuja registration number YAB 122 AZ.

The vehicle, which was forcefully taken from its owner by armed robbers in Oba on 11 July, was found abandoned near Fresh Air Hotel Road, close to Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Odume-Isiowulu.

In a related case, the Police also recovered a stolen school bus belonging to SUSU College in Asaba, Delta State.

Acting on credible intelligence, officers from the Isiowulu Division traced the abandoned vehicle to a location opposite the Magistrate Court in Asaba on the morning of 12 July. The bus had been reported stolen on 6 July.

Commending the swift coordination between the Anambra and Delta State Police Commands, Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu, described the joint effort as a testament to the power of inter-agency collaboration in combating cross-border crime.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said investigations into both incidents are ongoing, and efforts to arrest those responsible have been intensified.
