Nigerian Airstrikes Crush Terrorist Convoy On Zamfara-Kebbi Border
In a decisive blow to terrorist activities in the northwest, the Nigerian Armed Forces have confirmed the elimination of scores of terrorists during a precision airstrike targeting a convoy along the Zamfara-Kebbi border.
The successful mission, conducted under the banner of Operation Fasan Yamma, was based on credible intelligence that revealed the movement of armed militants heading towards local communities with intent to launch attacks.
Air surveillance identified the convoy navigating a remote corridor notorious for bandit operations.
Once confirmed, the Air Component swiftly struck, destroying multiple motorcycles and neutralising a significant number of fighters.
According to Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, the strikes have severely disrupted the terrorists’ logistics and operational capacity.
“This operation underscores our unwavering commitment to rid the region of terrorism and protect our people,” he said.
Follow-up missions are already underway to prevent regrouping by surviving elements.
The military also thanked local communities for their cooperation and reassured the public of their continued efforts to restore peace and security.
With the northwest under renewed military focus, this latest action signals a strong and proactive approach to tackling insurgency across Nigeria.
