Peter Obi Confirms 2027 Presidential Ambition
Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially confirmed his intention to run for Nigeria’s top job again in 2027.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Obi made his ambitions clear, saying, “I’m going to contest for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I believe I am qualified for it.”
When asked about the possibility of teaming up with Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a running mate, Obi dismissed the notion, stating that no one has approached him for such a conversation.
Obi’s declaration puts to rest speculation about his political future and sets the stage for what may be another fiercely contested presidential race.
