President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a strong directive to Nigeria’s Armed Forces: crush all threats to national unity and peace without hesitation
Speaking through Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the grand finale of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day celebration held at Murtala Square in Kaduna, the President reaffirmed his unwavering support for the military’s ongoing operations against terrorists, insurgents, bandits, and separatists.
“The time to rise is now,” Tinubu declared. “You have my full authorisation and the trust of the Nigerian people to confront and defeat those who seek to undermine our nation. You are my confidence, my support, and my prayers.”
He described Nigeria’s current security challenges as existential, noting that the violent actors make no distinction between churches and mosques in their attacks. He condemned such acts as senseless and divisive.
The President also pledged continued federal investment in modern military equipment, intelligence capabilities, and the welfare of troops, stressing that Nigeria’s unity and peace must never be compromised.
The event marked a powerful show of solidarity between the nation’s leadership and its frontline defenders, as calls grow louder for decisive action to restore lasting peace across the country.
