NAF Airstrikes Shatter Terrorist Hub In Lake Chad, Foil Threats To Marte, Monguno

In a bold and decisive move, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counterterrorism efforts, launching a precise airstrike on a major terrorist stronghold in Bukar Meram, near Lake Chad, Borno State.

The strike, carried out on 9th June 2025 under Operation HADIN KAI, followed credible intelligence that the enclave served both as a training camp and logistical base for insurgents. The mission neutralised several terrorists and destroyed vital infrastructure including supply vehicles, weapons storage sites, and makeshift shelters.

According to the NAF, the successful interdiction averted planned attacks on the nearby communities of Marte and Monguno, reaffirming the military’s commitment to protecting civilian lives and preserving national security in the Northeast.

“This operation reflects our resolve to remain proactive and relentless in our quest for lasting peace,” said Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF spokesperson.

With this latest strike, the NAF continues to demonstrate its pivotal role in the nation’s fight against terror, offering a glimmer of hope to residents who have long endured the shadows of insurgency.
