Nasarawa Governor Flags Off ‘Operation Sanity’ in Bold Move Against Road Traffic Crashes
In a decisive effort to combat the growing menace of road traffic crashes, Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has partnered with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to launch Operation Sanity, a state-wide campaign aimed at restoring order on the roads and promoting a culture of responsible driving.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Lafia, Governor Sule declared an end to reckless driving in the state. “This administration is fully committed to safeguarding lives and making our roads safer for everyone,” he said, stressing the importance of collaboration between the government, FRSC, and the public.
Operation Sanity, according to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, is a holistic initiative involving stricter enforcement of traffic laws, public education campaigns, and mobile court sessions to ensure instant justice for traffic offenders.
The campaign also brings stakeholders from various sectors together to create a unified front in tackling road crashes.
Governor Sule flanked by top government officials and the FRSC Corps Marshal, officially flagged off the campaign during a mobile court session in Lafia, signalling the beginning of what he described as a new era of road discipline in Nasarawa State.
With this bold initiative, Nasarawa is positioning itself as a potential model for road safety in Nigeria, where lives are valued, and sanity returns to the highways.
