Police Rescue 7 Kidnap Victims, Arrest 2 Suspects, Recover Arms Across Nigeria
The Nigeria Police Force has achieved major breakthroughs in its fight against criminality across the country, rescuing seven kidnapped victims, arresting two suspected kidnappers, and recovering firearms and ammunition in separate operations.
A statement by the Force PRO Force Headquarters, Abuja, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,
says in Niger State, Police operatives, in collaboration with local security teams, rescued seven persons abducted by suspected kidnappers in Tungan-Boka and Masaha villages.
He said, the victims were freed unharmed after a gun duel in the forest with the kidnappers, who were eventually overpowered.
Similarly, in Plateau State, a Police raid on a hideout along Bauchi Road in Jos North led to the recovery of an abandoned Golf Wagon containing 500 rounds of 7.65mm ammunition.
The find is linked to a homicide case reported earlier this month.
In Taraba State, two suspects, Lookman Tanko and Peter Apai, were arrested in separate intelligence-led operations.
The Police recovered two AK-47 rifles, a pump-action gun, a long gun, and an AK-47 magazine from the suspects, who are currently in custody.
According to the Force PRO, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has lauded the operatives’ dedication and urged continued vigilance.
He also called on citizens to support ongoing investigations with useful information.
