Anambra 2025: INEC Publishes Personal Details Of Governorship Candidates
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unveiled the personal particulars of candidates contesting the 2025 Anambra State governorship election.
In a statement issued by Sam Olumekun, National Commissioner and Chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, the Commission confirmed that 16 political parties successfully submitted their nomination forms before the 6:00pm deadline on Monday, 12th May 2025.
In line with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2022, the personal details captured in Form EC9 and accompanied by academic credentials and other supporting documents are now on public display at INEC’s State Headquarters and all 21 Local Government Area offices across Anambra State.
INEC is calling on the public, particularly aspirants who participated in party primaries, to scrutinise the documents carefully.
Anyone with substantial evidence of false information is encouraged to seek redress at the Federal High Court, as stipulated in Section 29(5) of the Act.
The final list of cleared candidates will be published on 9th June 2025 at least 150 days before the election complying with Section 32(1) of the Electoral Act.
The Anambra State governorship election is slated for Saturday, 8th November 2025.
