Corps Member Champions N21m Project To Fence Durumi Cemetery
Moved by the neglected state of Durumi Cemetery during a cleanup, 24-year-old corps member Ukpevo Faith has launched a bold initiative to build a perimeter fence around the 4-hectare site.
The Accounting graduate from the University of Abuja is rallying support to raise over N21 million for the project, aimed at preserving the dignity of the resting place and preventing vandalism.
“I asked questions and found that lack of funds and manpower were the main barriers,” Faith said.
Inspired by her mother and driven by a passion for service, she’s submitted proposals to organisations and received encouraging feedback.
Backed by community leaders and authorities, Faith is confident her vision will set a lasting example for future generations.
