Troops Sustain Heat On Terrorists, Oil Thieves in Nigeria, Recover Over N260m Worth Of Stolen Crude

In a decisive week of operations, Nigeria’s Armed Forces recorded major victories against insurgents and economic saboteurs across the country, reaffirming their resolve to restore peace and security nationwide.
From April 10 to 17, 2025, troops neutralised scores of terrorists, rescued kidnapped victims, and arrested over 42 oil thieves.
In a major breakthrough under Operation DELTA SAFE, security operatives foiled crude oil theft worth over N262 million, destroying 42 illegal refineries and seizing 117,395 litres of stolen crude oil.
In the North East, dozens of Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters, including women and children, surrendered to troops amidst intensified raids in Borno and Yobe States.
Similarly, in the North West, a notorious terror kingpin, Bello Kaura, was eliminated in an airstrike, while over 20 kidnap victims were freed in joint operations.
Meanwhile, in the South East, troops under Operation UDO KA clashed with violent extremists in Imo, Anambra, Abia, and Enugu States, resulting in arrests, rescue of kidnapped victims, and recovery of weapons and IEDs.
The Armed Forces say these actions are part of a sustained push to deny criminals freedom of action and create a safe environment for Nigerians.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to professionalism and protection of civilians, urging public support and collaboration in ongoing efforts.
