Easter Cantata: Abejide, CP Adewale, NUJ Urge Unity, Responsible Leadership To Drive Renewed Hope
Calls for unity, visionary leadership, and responsible journalism echoed at the 2025 Easter Cantata Concert organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, FCT Council, as stakeholders from the legislature, security agencies, and media joined forces to push Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The event, held under the theme “Renewal and Hope: Harnessing the Transformative Power of Unity and Progress”, was a mix of music, reflection, and national pride.
House Committee Chairman, Elder Leke Abejide, urged leaders to be courageous in pushing reforms, even if unpopular, for the nation’s long-term good. “Sweetness comes after bitterness,” he said, referencing the tough but necessary economic decisions by President Tinubu’s administration.
FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, praised journalists for their service, calling on them to wield their influence wisely. “One sentence can build or burn a nation. Use your power to unite,” he appealed.
NUJ National President, Alhaji AlHassan Abdullahi, emphasised forgiveness and national interest in reporting, while NUJ FCT Chairperson, Comrade Grace Ike, urged journalists to remain beacons of integrity and unity. “Journalism must be a force for peace and transformation,” she said.
The concert featured music, prayers, and messages of hope, all reinforcing that unity, integrity, and responsible leadership are Nigeria’s path to progress.
