The Nigeria Police Force begins training for 10,000 new recruits nationwide today, Saturday, April 12, 2025.

The intensive programme, which will run across various police colleges and training institutions, aims to prepare the recruits with the discipline, ethics, and operational skills required to protect lives and property.

Ahead of the exercise, the Force Headquarters hosted an orientation for Commandants and training staff on Friday.

Representing the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, was the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Training and Development, DIG Frank Mba, who urged training officers to uphold high ethical standards and embrace the ongoing police reforms.

The IGP assured that the welfare of recruits, particularly in feeding and accommodation, remains a top priority.

He also called on the new intakes to exhibit discipline, integrity, and professionalism throughout their training and future service.

IGP Egbetokun expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting police reforms and strengthening internal security through the recruitment drive, which he described as a major step towards enhancing public safety across the nation.
