FRSC Debunks AI-Generated Fake Video, Urges Public To Beware Of Misinformation

Princess-Ekwi Ajide

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has raised an alarm over a viral video falsely depicting its Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, allegedly commenting on the supposed assassination of one Kingsley Ekweme.

In a strongly worded disclaimer, the FRSC described the circulating clip as false, misleading, and suspected to be AI-generated.

The Corps emphasised that no such interview ever took place and firmly disassociated itself from the content.

“The FRSC does not operate outside its statutory mandate and has made no statements regarding the alleged incident,” Ogungbemide stated in the release, adding that legal steps may be taken against those behind the disinformation.

The Corps urged the public to disregard the video and remain vigilant against fake news, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accurate public information.
