AU Commends Nigeria Police For Peacekeeping Excellence, Seeks Stronger Collaboration

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has earned high praise from the African Union (AU) for the Nigeria Police Force’s outstanding role in international peacekeeping, particularly in Somalia.

AU’s Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace & Security, Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

He lauded the NPF’s professionalism and called for continued collaboration in tackling transnational crimes.

The IGP on his part, expressed gratitude, reaffirming the Force’s unwavering support for AU’s peace and security mission.

Both leaders stressed the importance of stronger partnerships to enhance security across Africa.

This engagement marks a major step towards reinforcing Nigeria’s role in regional peace efforts and boosting global crime-fighting synergy.
