Nigerian Lawyer Accuses Kenya of Aiding Nnamdi Kanu’s ‘Abduction’
An Abuja-based lawyer, Christopher Chidera, has accused the Kenyan government of complicity in the 2021 abduction and rendition of Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu, by the Nigerian government.
In a statement released Monday, Chidera alleged that Kenya violated its Constitution, extradition laws, and international treaty obligations by allowing Kanu’s forced transfer without due process.
He claimed Kanu, a UK-Nigerian citizen, was abducted at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta Airport, detained for eight days, tortured, and illegally handed over to Nigerian officials.
Chidera argued that Kenya’s actions undermined its reputation as a law-abiding Commonwealth nation and called for accountability.
