Strengthening Security: Borno State Government Commits To A Safer Future
Security remains a top priority in Borno State, a region that has long battled insurgency and other security challenges.
For this, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has commended the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, for the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
Speaking at the Borno State Government House in Maiduguri, Governor Zulum praised the IGP’s strategic approach to policing, which has strengthened security operations in the state.
To further enhance the police and other security agencies’ efficiency, the state government commissioned a fleet of 110 operational vehicles, 500 motorcycles, and 40 newly constructed housing units, these are in addition to the 230 units previously allocated to police officers.
IGP Egbetokun, who was the special guest of honour at the event, expressed appreciation for the state government’s unwavering support, stating that these resources would improve response times and boost officers morale.
He reiterated the force’s dedication to maintaining security and ensuring the welfare of its personnel.
The initiative showcases the collaborative effort between the Borno State Government and security agencies in tackling security challenges head-on.
