For half a century, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has championed regional integration, peace, and socio-economic development.

As part of its golden jubilee celebrations, the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre is set to host the third edition of the ECOWAS International Marathon in Abuja on March 1, 2025.

More than just a race, the marathon embodies ECOWAS’ vision of fostering unity across borders.

Open to all nationalities and genders, it offers a competitive platform for both elite and amateur runners, with over $71,000 in prizes to be won.

The event is expected to draw athletes and fitness enthusiasts from across the region, reinforcing the power of sports as a tool for cohesion and development.

Participation is free, and registration is ongoing at www.ecowasabujamarathon.org.
