The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has named the immediate past President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), Chief Yomi Badejo-Okunsanya, as the Chairman of the Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG) Board.

Joining him on the board are Hajiya Lami Tumaka as the 1st Vice Chairman and Dr. Alice Ajeh as the 2nd Vice Chairman.

This milestone follows the unveiling of the NRMG in Abuja on October 15, 2024, an NIPR initiative aimed at tackling reputational challenges hindering Nigeria’s growth and global standing.

During the virtual inauguration, NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, emphasised the importance of safeguarding Nigeria’s reputation, describing it as a critical asset for global trade.

The 17-member Board, approved at the NIPR Governing Council’s 117th meeting, includes experts such as Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, and Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun, among others.

The team has been tasked with partnering with the NIPR Council to establish the Nigeria Reputation House and drive the nation’s reputation management efforts.

The Board also includes representatives from key ministries and agencies, with the CEO of the NRMG, once appointed, set to serve as its Secretary.

This initiative marks a significant step in reshaping Nigeria’s global image and fostering sustainable growth.
