Today, the United Nations Information Centre, UNIC, Abuja commemorated the International Day for the Victims of the Holocaust with an educational outreach for over 400 students of Government Secondary School, Garki, Abuja.

The event aimed to create awareness about the horrors of the Holocaust and the dangers of antisemitism while inspiring students to promote tolerance and social cohesion.

Through the powerful exhibition, “Lest We Forget,” students caught glimpses of the love and intimate connections within Jewish families before the Holocaust, emphasizing the importance of defending everyone’s right to live with dignity and peace.

The students were urged to combat hatred, hate speech, and discrimination in their schools and communities, fostering love and unity instead.

This outreach is part of the United Nations’ ongoing efforts to ensure the lessons of history inspire a better, inclusive future.
