Nigeria To Deepen Ties With Russia In Science, Technology, and Agriculture

In a bid to bolster socio-economic development, Nigeria is set to strengthen its collaboration with Russia in space technology, agriculture, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Mrs. Esuabana Nko Asanye, revealed this during a courtesy visit by officials from the Russian Embassy in Abuja.
Led by the Senior Counselor of the Trade and Economic Section, Sergei Pliushchov, the Russian delegation stressed their readiness to support Nigeria by training scientific experts and fostering skill development through online technical programmes.
Mrs. Asanye highlighted the Ministry’s interest in participating in specialised training programmes in Russia, particularly in space technology, and called for Russia’s sponsorship of Nigerian scientific officers.
She commended Russia’s dedication to Nigeria’s progress and the ongoing efforts to nurture bilateral cooperation.
Pliushchov assured that Russia remains committed to equipping Nigerian experts with the tools needed for improved productivity and innovation, marking a significant step towards mutual growth and partnership.
