The Armed Forces of Nigeria have ramped up counter-terrorism and anti-crime operations nationwide, dealing significant blows to criminal networks.

Among the week’s highlights, troops in North Central neutralised Abu Mosaje, a notorious terrorist commander and arms dealer, in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State.

Security forces arrested Babangida Gora Usman, a wanted kidnap kingpin, in Sanga, Kaduna State.

In the South East, seven members of IPOB/ESN, including a notorious kidnapper, were arrested in Enugu and Imo States while, operations in the South South uncovered and destroyed illegal oil refining sites, denying criminals over N747 million worth of stolen crude oil and refining infrastructure.

Across all theatres, troops neutralised 79 terrorists, arrested 224 suspects, and rescued 67 kidnapped hostages.

They also recovered over 842,000 liters of stolen crude oil, 104 assorted weapons, and nearly 2,000 rounds of ammunition, further dismantling terrorist and criminal operations.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to ensuring peace and security nationwide, urging citizens to remain vigilant and supportive of ongoing efforts.
