In a strategic move to address the challenges facing Africa’s farming sector and the global food value chain, the FS Initiative has unveiled its Organic Seeds Project roadmap for 2025.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to preserve organic seeds for farmers across Africa and beyond, offering a sustainable alternative to genetically modified seeds that dominate the market.
The project will be overseen by a newly formed ad-hoc board tasked with driving its objectives and ensuring its success.
Speaking on the initiative, FS Initiative International Director, Ambassador Ikenna Offor, called for collective action, emphasising the urgency of supporting organic farming practices amidst mounting pressures from multinational seed corporations.
Drawing inspiration from Thomas Jefferson’s words, “Evil triumphs when good men and women do nothing,” the Initiative urges individuals and organisations to step forward and support the project.
Interested participants are encouraged to join the movement by sending the message “I’m interested to be part of FS Initiative organic seeds project” to be added to the Initiative’s WhatsApp forum.
Together, FS Initiative hopes to “walk the talk” for the greater good of sustainable agriculture.
