ECOWAS President Attends Ghanaian Presidential Inauguration, Holds Key Bilateral Meetings

Accra was a beehive of activities on January 7, 2025, as President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Touray, joined other dignitaries to witness the historic inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s 6th President of the 4th Republic.
Beyond the celebrations, Dr. Touray seized the opportunity to hold strategic bilateral meetings with Bernard Quintin and Lord Ray Collins of the British Parliament, Under Secretary of State for Africa.
The discussions centered on deepening ties between ECOWAS, the European Union, and the United Kingdom to enhance regional cooperation and development.
The meetings underscored ECOWAS’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships for Africa’s advancement.
