Nigeria, Saudi Arabia Sign MoU for 2025 Hajj

Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a smooth and fulfilling Hajj pilgrimage for Nigerian Muslims, as both nations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
The signing ceremony, held in Saudi Arabia, saw the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, represent Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Maitama Tuggar, while the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Abdulfattah Mashat, signed on behalf of Saudi Arabia.
This agreement sets the tone for seamless collaboration on key aspects such as accommodation, transportation, and healthcare services for Nigerian pilgrims.
It also highlights plans for the upcoming Hajj Conference and Exhibition, a platform that unites stakeholders to elevate the quality of services offered to pilgrims.
Amb. Tuggar emphasised the significance of the MoU, noting that it ensures a spiritually fulfilling and well-coordinated Hajj experience.
“This longstanding tradition of cooperation ensures the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims and strengthens ties between both nations,” he said.
Dignitaries present at the signing ceremony included the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Abubakar Bello, and other prominent officials, which underscores the importance of the collaboration.
Preparations for the 2025 Hajj have officially begun, promising an improved and enriching experience for all pilgrims.
