In a strategic overhaul to strengthen operational effectiveness and address emerging security challenges, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has approved the redeployment of senior Nigerian Army officers across critical command, staff, and instructional positions.

The reshufflement, announced in a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, aims to inject fresh energy into key roles, including Defence Media Operations, training institutions, and frontline commands.

Major General MC Kangye has been appointed as Director of Defence Media Operations at Defence Headquarters, a role crucial for shaping public perception and ensuring accurate, timely communication of military operations.

His redeployment signals the Army’s renewed focus on transparency, public engagement, and countering misinformation.

Other significant changes include Major General LA Fejokwu’s appointment as Chief of Administration (Army), Major General GU Chibuisi as Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, and Major General AS Ndalolo as Chief of Training (Army). General Officers Commanding (GOCs) such as Major General OT Olatoye and Major General EF Oyinlola were also appointed to lead Divisions 82 and 3, respectively.

The reshufflement also saw Major General GM Mutkut deployed as Force Commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force in N’Djamena, emphasising regional collaboration in addressing security challenges.

Lieutenant General Oluyede charged the newly appointed officers to bring renewed vigor and commitment to their duties, with special attention to the welfare of troops and the ongoing fight against terrorism, insurgency, and other national security threats.

The changes reflect the Nigerian Army’s commitment to dynamic leadership, operational efficiency, and enhanced communication in the defence sector.
