The Armed Forces of Nigeria have continued to intensify their counter-insurgency efforts across the country, achieving significant results in the past week.

According to a press release by the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, troops neutralised 109 terrorists, arrested 81 suspects, and rescued 43 kidnapped individuals.

In the Niger Delta, troops disrupted major oil theft operations, saving the nation an estimated ₦618.7 million.

He said the troops destroyed 10 illegal refining sites, 12 boats, and recovered over 631,709 liters of stolen crude oil, as well as 3,140 liters of illegally refined diesel and 2,250 liters of petrol.

Buba said, 21 assorted weapons, including AK-47 rifles and locally fabricated firearms, were seized, along with 124 rounds of ammunition, motorcycles, and communication devices.

He maintained that the military remains resolute in its mission to combat insecurity and safeguard national resources, urging citizens to expect sustained progress in the weeks ahead.
