Police Neutralise Kidnappers, Rescue Victims in High-Stakes Operations

The Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to combating kidnapping and restoring safety nationwide through strategic operations.
In a rescue mission on December 31, 2024, in Kwande LGA, Benue State, police operatives neutralised three kidnappers and rescued a victim, Tor Gajir, unharmed.
The operation, led by the Vandiekya Divisional Police Headquarters, followed a swift investigation that uncovered the kidnappers’ den in Adikpo where a gun duel ensued, resulting in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, six loaded magazines, and live ammunition.
In a separate operation in Nasarawa State on December 28, 2024, two hostages were rescued after police traced an abandoned Sienna vehicle suspected of being attacked along the Keffi-Kaduna Highway while on January 7, 2025, Bayelsa police intercepted a suspect transporting a cache of weapons, including an AK-47 rifle and 120 rounds of ammunition, en route to Rivers State.
Reacting to these accomplishments, the Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, commended the officers for their bravery and urged citizens to remain vigilant and support the fight against crime.
