The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has refuted allegations by Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, claiming threats to his life.

In a statement personally signed by him, Ganduje described the allegations as “sheer mischief and outright falsehood,” accusing Obi of seeking attention through emotional blackmail.

The APC Chairman clarified that the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, made no threats during his remarks on Arise TV’s ThisDay Live on January 4, 2025, contrary to Obi’s claims.

“Morka’s comments were in response to questions about ‘prophets of doom’ and ‘voodoo economics,’ and that nothing suggested a threat to Obi or anyone else,” Ganduje stated.

He criticised Obi for spreading what he called misinformation, urging him to provide accurate information as a public figure.

Ganduje also condemned the alleged death threats issued against Morka by Obi’s online supporters, emphasising that free speech, protected by the Constitution, must not be weaponised to mislead the public.

The APC chairman reiterated the party’s commitment to defending the government’s record and countering what he termed baseless opposition claims.
