In its efforts to curb the surge of kidnapping and armed robbery across the nation, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have achieved significant breakthroughs in recent operations.

According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, over the past week, coordinated efforts in Kwara and Lagos States led to the rescue of 13 kidnapped victims, the arrest of five suspected armed robbers, and the recovery of a cache of firearms and ammunition.

In Kwara State, on December 27, police operatives stormed a kidnappers’ den in Idofin-Igbana, rescuing 13 abducted individuals.

The criminals, overwhelmed by the police offensive, fled with injuries, leaving their victims unharmed.

The following day in Lagos, police operatives acted swiftly to reports of disturbances in Lekki and GRA Ikeja and two suspects were apprehended at Pinnacle Depot, Lekki, where a double-barrel rifle, 90 live cartridges, and five model rifles were recovered.

Later, three armed robbery suspects were arrested in GRA Ikeja, with a locally made pistol, live cartridges, and cutlasses seized during the operation.

Reacting to these success stories, the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, commended the officers for their bravery and reassured Nigerians of the Force’s unwavering commitment to safety and security.

The police reiterates commitment to sustaining these efforts, leveraging all resources to combat crime and ensure a safer Nigeria.
