Nigeria has solidified its position as Africa’s top source of international students and ranks seventh globally, with 20,029 students enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities for the 2023/24 academic year.

This number marks a 13.5% increase from the previous year as reported in the 2024 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange.

The report highlights a record-breaking 1.13 million international students in the U.S., with Nigerians standing out for their strong academic achievements.

Over 55% of Nigerian students pursue graduate studies, enriching U.S. campuses with their perspectives and excellence.
