Nigeria, South Africa to Deepen Ties at 11th Bi-National Commission Meeting

The 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) is set to take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 28 to December 3, 2024.
This high-level meeting will bring together senior officials, ministers, and presidents from both nations to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, will lead Nigeria’s delegation, highlighting the country’s commitment to fostering deeper ties with South Africa.
Key sessions include the Senior Officials Meeting (November 28-30), the Ministerial Meeting (December 2), and the Presidential Meeting (December 3).
The BNC established to enhance collaboration in areas such as defense, technology, education, and energy, aims to position Africa as a key player in global socio-economic and political developments.
It also serves as a platform for promoting trade, investment, and sustainable development across the continent.
A statement signed by the Acting Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, said, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, will head Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation at the Ministerial Meeting.
This year’s session promises to provide actionable strategies to harness the shared resources of both countries for peace, stability, and economic growth across Africa.
