Oju/Obi Federal Constituency Representative, Ogewu, Tours Anambra, Interacts With Constituents
The member representing Oju/Obi Federal Constituency and Vice Chairman Committee on Army at the National Assembly Abuja, Honourable David Ogewu, as part of his over sight function, visited the Onitsha military Cantonment and also paid a courtesy visit to the Governor Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
At the 302 Artillery Regt (general Support) and 14 Field Engineer Regiment Onitsha, it was a grand event as it attracted the commanders, and officers of the Cantonment.
A guard of Honor was mounted for him and was taken round the various project sites in the Barracks.
In his speech the Commander 302 Artillery Regiment Colonel Mohammed Abubakar, appreciated the visitor for his zeal and dynamic approach to his over sight functions and implored him to attract more projects for better living condition for the officers and men of the military cantonment Onitsha.
He promised that he and his men will continue to do their duty with total commitment.
Other officers who received Honourable Ogewu, included the Commanding Officer 14 Field Engineer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Ayuba Nandang, 2ic 302 Regiment, Lt Col Ngai, the Officer in Charge Military Police, Major EU Andy, among others.
At the Government House, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim received Honourable David Ogewu, on behalf of the Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
In his speech, Dr Ibezim, commended the Army authority especially those on the ground in the state who he said, have helped to reduce the spate of insecurity in the state assuring that Anambra State remains the most peaceful State in Nigeria
He promised that the state government will continue to give the Army all necessary support to ensure that they perform maximally.
In spite of his busy schedule, Honourable Ogewu could not deny the request of the Igede community in Anambra, who had despite the short notice converge as early as 10am to ensure that they see and interact with their son and thank him for the wonderful work he has been doing within such a short time in office and encouraged him to continue the good work.
Reverend Genesis Onah, on behalf of the Igede community in Anambra State, presented a Bible to Honourable Ogewu
In a brief remark, the former president of Omi Ny’Igede Anambra/Delta State Chapter Evangelist Patrick Akobo Ulaka, described Honourable David Ogewu as a guiding light, an iconic leader and an inestimable gift to Igede people of Benue State, Nigeria and humanity.
He urged all sons and daughters of Igede tribe to continue praying for their representative, who has shown to be a light shining over Igede land as a whole.
Evang Akobo on behalf of Igede Community in Anambra State also commended Honourable Ogewu for the work that is already in progess on Oju – Adum – Iyahe Cross River Road especially the quality of work so far.
He also thanked him for the proposed Oju – Uwokwu – Ebonyi Road which the motion is before the National Assembly and for which Honourable Ogewu has held a special meeting with the Ebonyi State Governor, Hon. Francis Nwifuru, to construct Oyonge River Bridge to ease communication/transportation and open the neighboring communities to economic and social transformation.
In his response Honourable Ogewu assured the Igede Community that it is no longer business as usual as he is committed by God’s Grace to qualitative representation of his people which will manifest in massive all round development for his constituency.
