Nigrrian Army Moves To Bolster Troops Spirit In Theatres Of Operation

The Nigerian Army, says, insurgents and terrorists no longer have freedom of action for it has procured, deployed and inducted assorted modern military equipments into the various theatres of operation as force multipliers, to significantly bolster troops’ fighting spirit and enhance their performance across all theatres of operation.

 

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya who disclosed this on Monday 3rd April 2023, while declaring opening the 2023 Chief of Army Staff First Quarter Conference in Abuja, urged Field Commanders at all levels to ensure adequate maintenance of the platforms and sufficient training of troops on how to operate the modern equipment,

 

He noted that the Nigerian Army has also intensified efforts in winning hearts and minds of law-abiding citizens through conduct of innumerable civil-military cooperation activities across the country saying that the efforts are aimed at improving the living condition of the populace and to complement efforts of government at various levels.

 

 

According to the COAS, these efforts manifest in terms of construction of roads, hospitals, provision of water and medical outreaches among others for some of their host communities and it has among other benefits resulted in the unauthorised surrendering massively.

 

 

Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya said the efforts enhanced troops poise and greatly improved the security situation and public confidence in the North East as it is on record that last year (2022), Nigeria attained its best record against terrorism since 2011.

 

The Chief of Policy and Plan, Major General Anthony Omozoje, while welcoming participants to the COAS first quarter Conference 2023, said the Conference is in furtherance of COAS’ determination to maintain constant interaction with field commanders so as to review Nigerian Army activities for the First Quarter of the Year, evaluate its preparedness and come up with new and better strategies for improved and collective performance in carrying out NA’s constitutional roles for the remaining months of the Year.

High points of the COAS first quarter Conference 2023 included the presentation of fourteen (14) Toyota Hilux Vehicles to fourteen (14) Regimental Sergeant Majors of the Nigerian Army and the exhibition of Nigerian Army equipments, Uniforms among others.
