Armed Bandits Abduct Female Students Of Federal University Gusau

The Zamfara State Police Command, has assured families and the management of Federal University, Gusau that Police Tactical Operatives have intensified search and rescue operation efforts to rescue two students of the university abducted in the early hours of today, Sunday April 2, 2023.
There were reports that heavily armed terrorists stormed the Federal University, Gusau, in Sabon Gida village in Bungudu LGA, Zamfara State last night, and abducted some female students at the students off-campus hostel.
A report by YATAB Network said sources familiar with the incident, disclosed to them that the fully armed terrorists arrived the area at about 1am on Sunday, picked the students and moved away with them to an unknown destination.
However, troops deployed within the general area have taken control of the situation while efforts are on to locate the kidnapped students.
A Press Statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, in Zamfara State, SP Gambo Isah, disclosed that “information received by the Command indicated that, on 2nd April, 2023 at about 0100am, Armed bandits stormed sabon gida village in Bungudu LGA and broke into a rented female hostel of the university where they locked up the two (2) civilian guards and dispossessed them of their handsets and later abducted two (2) female students of Microbiology Department of the university.”
The statement, noted that on receipt of the report, the Police Tactical team moved to the scene, but the hoodlums had already fled with the victims to an unknown destination.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf, has further deployed reinforcement to complement the ongoing rescue operation to rescue the hostages hale and hearty, arrest the perpetrators and charge them to court for prosecution the statement concluded.
