A security expert of Abia state extraction Mazi Chikwe Udensi, has described charity work as a trait he inherited from his family.
Udensi who is currently giving out palliative to pensioners in the state revealed that he grew up and saw his grand-father and father giving scholarship to school children.
The Interpol Consultant spoke to journalists last weekend at Awka Hall in Umuahia, the Abia State capital during the palliatives distribution programme to the elderly and pensioners.
He promised to return in the next month with the same programme while urging the pensioners to be patient.
He added that God has heard their cries and will provide Abia with a good leader who will pilot the affairs of the State where everyone will benefit from the dividends of democracy.
According to him” I’m not doing charity because of politics, because it’s my heart beat as I had instituted a charity foundation since 1991.
“But having seen the level of suffering in our state as a result of bad governance, I have also decided to go into politics in order to rewrite the wrongs of our past leaders.
“This I tend to do by changing the party in power in Abia state. If they said giving palliative to pensioners is politics, then owing pensioners is certainly an extreme wickedness.
The high point of the event was the distribution of N10,000 cheques to the pensioners, free eyes test and distribution of medical eyes glasses and distribution of rice to the elderly.
The programme for the Elderly and distribution of palliatives to pensioners has gone through Arochukwu, Bende, Ohafia, Umunneochi, Isuikwuato LGAs and it’s expected to touch all the remaining Local Government Areas of Abia State.
