Gamji College Denies Abduction Of 18 Students, Says ‘Our Students Are Safe’
Management of Gamji College of Health Technology, Sokoto, has denied reports that 18 of its students were abducted by suspected terrorists while travelling to Oyo State.
The college described the report as false and misleading, assuring parents, guardians and the public that all its students are safe and accounted for.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Bello Abdulrahman, the institution said the report published by Sahara Reporters on October 5, 2026, did not reflect the actual situation.
The report had claimed that 18 students of the college were kidnapped while travelling to Oyo State and that the driver of their vehicle was killed.
But the college management categorically denied the claims, saying no student of Gamji College of Health Technology was abducted.
It said the students were currently at their various destinations and continuing with their academic and professional programmes as planned.
The management urged parents, guardians and other stakeholders to disregard the report and stop circulating what it described as fake news.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to students’ safety and welfare, adding that it would continue working with relevant security agencies to maintain a safe learning environment.
The college advised the public to rely on its official communication channels for verified information.
